The Barrhead Bantam Pirates started the Provincials with three wins in round robin play before defeating Lac La Biche 6-3 in the semi-final. A slow start in the final put the team behind 3-0 after two periods but in the third period the team came out strong and was able to score three quick goals to tie the game. The score remained tied after 60 minutes but with 4:10 remaining in the second overtime period Jorrey Jensen scored giving the Pirates their second consecutive Provincial win.
