Two ice sessions daily for 2.25 to 2.5 hours:
On the ice the groups are divided into 5 different stations, each that teaches a different skill set. A progressive system is used, where basic skills are learned on Monday and advance throughout the week. There is a ratio of 8 participants to 1 instructor on the ice. All aspects of skating, passing, shooting, positioning and many other skills will be covered on the ice. Programs are developed according to the age and skill level of each group. 1 to 1.5 Hours conditioning per day
The basics of conditioning as it applies to hockey are taught, and designed based on the skill level of the group. Edge Hockey wants players to see that you do not have to be on the ice all the time to improve your game. We also include team building and ice breakers in this program to help the overall development of each participant.
Off Ice:
30 min to 45 min of Hockey Talk per day:
Participants will learn about hockey equipment, systems and even have a chance to ask some of our professional players questions.
1 hour of Cross Training/pool time per day
1 to 1.5 Hours of Read and React per day:
This program is designed to teach the systems of hockey and how to react to different situations on the ice through ball hockey. We have now incorporated a large shooting and stick handling component to this part of the program as well.

The Junior Prep Hockey Camp invites the best 12 to 19 year old hockey players and allows them an opportunity to be developed on the ice by world class coaches hoping to recruit players to Junior A, Junior B, and Canadian College teams directly from camp. Players are given the opportunity to network and showcase their skills in front of the same Junior coaches for whom they are hoping to play. This year’s camp features former Canucks Assistant Coach Ryan Walter in Week 1, our 1st Elite Female Week, and Referee Camp Weeks 2 and 3.
Off Ice:
Our intense off-ice conditioning program is second to none as we push players to their limits while educating them on the benefits of hockey specific training, strength and conditioning, and yoga. In 2011 we move into the new state of the art dormitory on site, and will again provide presentations from our guest coaches every evening. The on-ice component of the Q3 Program consists of focused instruction, honest and constructive error detection and correction, and the introduction of Quantum Speed’s Signature Skills and Drills. The on-ice program is designed to cater to all learning styles, and all of the drills promote one-on-one instructor feedback. All of the main skating skills that players require for the game are covered over the course of 12 sessions, and all skills are related to game situations.
Off Ice:
The off-ice component of the Q3 program is designed and implemented to re-enforce the skating skills and efficient movements that are being introduced on the ice. The exercises are meant to promote unconscious muscle memory with error detection and correction that is consistent with the feedback that they are receiving on the ice. The off-ice component of the Q3 program is not meant to replace players’ individual strength training and conditioning programs, but should instead compliment them.
