Chilliwack, B.C. -- The Chilliwack Bruins are pleased to announce the addition of Chilliwack resident Dave Archibald to their coaching staff.
Archibald, who left his home in Chilliwack at 15 years of age to begin a three year career with the WHL’s Portland Winter Hawks was drafted 6th overall in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars.
Over the course of his NHL career, Archibald appeared in a total of 323 NHL games with the North Stars, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders. He also spent two years with Canada’s National Team, winning silver medals at both the 1992 Olympics and the 1991 World Championships.
“We are very happy to have Dave join our staff,” stated Bruins General Manager Darrell May. “With the influx of young players to our line-up, having Dave’s hockey background and ability to work one on one with our players will add to their development”.
Archibald will join returning Assistant Coach Bob Rouse and Goaltending Coach Brady Robinson on Head Coach Jim Hiller and Associate Coach Dan Price’s staff.
“We feel very good about the group of coaches we have on board,” said May. “Bob is a true professional and adds a wealth of experience to our organization. We’re happy to have him back for another season. Brady has worked very hard with our goaltenders over the past two seasons and we’re glad to have him back with us as well.” |
