The Slave Lake Thunder had a good run this season going 17-3 in the regular season. They followed up by their regular season by qualifying for Provincials. In Provincials they went 2-1 in the round robin before defeating the Strathcona Warriors to claim their spot in the finals against the Ponoka Moose. This exciting game kept all the fans on the edges of their seats and ended in double over-time with the Thunder winning 6-5.
