You got her the skates, you got her the stick, heck you’ve even dropped money on coloured laces, but you haven’t really prepared your child for a life in hockey until you register her for The Source for Sports Play SMART Jamboree.
Hosted by the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association and Hockey Alberta, the Play SMART Jamboree is the ultimate ‘learn-to-play’ hockey program for young boys and girls.
With a primary focus on fun, participants will get a crash course in skill development and be taught the fundamentals essential for a successful hockey experience. And the on-ice assistants should know. The University of Alberta Golden Bears hockey team is consistently one of the top collegiate programs in Canada and will be on-hand to teach your youngster what it takes to make hockey an enjoyable part of his life.
In addition, the Jamboree also aims to teach parents all aspects of the game by offering insight into officiating, coaching, administration and risk management as they pertain to hockey.
The Play SMART Jamboree is free of charge and open to all players registered in the EMHA and born in either 2000 or 2001. Space is limited so only the first 120 players registered will be accepted. Parents will need to attend the learning sessions while their child participates in on-ice activities.
This year’s event will be held Sunday, Oct. 26 at Clareview A Arena. Visit www.emha.ca to register online or to download a copy of the registration form. |
