A lesson you only learn once is that you don’t stick your hand in the middle of a dogfight.
Well, stand back because there is about to be a lot of fur flying in the Alberta Midget Hockey League’s Dodge Division.
While the Lloydminster Tanroc Bobcats and St. Albert Sport Raiders jockey for the first-overall seeding heading into the post-season, with four games left in the season it’s definitive that both will earn a first round bye.
So, while there could be a bit of snarling and teeth-baring amongst the top dogs, it’s further down the ranks where the danger lies.
The CAC Gregg Distributors Canadians, Sherwood Park J. Ennis Kings and the KC Pats are within four points of one another and when all is said and done, one will be left out in the cold.
The Canadians and Kings would seem to hold the advantage at this point with five games remaining to the Pats’ four. Adding to the advantage is that the Canadians and Kings have tallied 29 and 26 points respectively to the Pats’ 25.
Still, all three teams have equally difficult schedules to close out the year, with matchups against the top few teams from each division, so at this point it’s anyone’s guess as to which dog comes out on top. |
