PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The entire Prince George Cougars hockey team will be out in the community to support local animals at the BC SPCA Paws for a Cause…Walk for the Animals on Sunday, September 14th. The Cougars are Gold Sponsors of the annual event which raises money to support animal welfare in Prince George. Players and coaching staff, along with Rowdy Cat, will be on hand at UNBC following the walk to award Season Tickets to winners in both Adult and Children’s categories. The walk begins at noon at Forests for the World.
“The Prince George Cougars have always been big supporters of animal welfare,” said Business Manager Brandi Brodsky. “From adopting Cougar Helena in 2006, to our annual SPCA Drive for Supplies, we are committed to ensuring the well-being of local animals. As Gold Sponsors of Paws for a Cause we are once again stepping up as leaders for this worthy cause.”
Rita Katzel-Wiebe, fundraiser for the local SPCA branch, explains that the Cougars are a huge part of Prince George and well known all over the province. “We are pleased that the Prince George Cougars have come on board for a cause very near and dear to the hearts of so many people in our city,” said Katzel-Wiebe. |
