Photo courtesy of Cody Todd, Strathmore Standard The Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL) has named WHL Top Prospect Ty Rattie, of the UFA (Strathmmore) Bisons, player of the month for October. Rattie was the Portland Winter Hawks 1st pick (2nd overall) at the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft and signed a WHL Standard Player agreement with the Club this past summer.
Ty is an AMHL first year player of above average talent and game sense with a unique combination of competitiveness, toughness and emotional control. After 10 games Ty leads the AMHL with 12 goals and 7 assists for 19 points. Despite the attention he attracts for opposition defenders, he battles through with emotional strength and focuses as witness the fact that he has zero penalties at this juncture. Ty is a quiet spoken young man, very coachable and a good team mate.
Each player received a Hundred (100) dollar gift certificate from the Source for Sports Dealers of Alberta, a watch imprinted with the AMHL logo and a commemorative plaque from the Alberta ‘AAA’ Midget Hockey League. Every player nominated, from all eighteen teams in the league, receives a $50.00 gift certificate from the Source for Sports Dealers of Alberta. |
