Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – The Prince Albert Raiders and Kamloops Blazers have swapped 18 year-old defencemen, the Raiders acquiring Jordan Rowley in exchange for Zak Stebner.
Rowley, the Blazers second round selection, 26th overall in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft, is in his third full season with the Blazers. This season Rowley has appeared in all 27 games with the Blazers with 3 goals and 3 assists to go along with 47 minutes in penalties.
Stebner was acquired by the Raiders just over a year ago, on November 18, 2007 from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for the rights to goaltender David Aime. Stebner has skated in all 31 games with the Raiders this season with 3 goals, 7 assists and 46 penalty minutes.
“This deal satisfies the needs of both teams,” says Raider General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese. “We’d like to thank Zak for his hard work and commitment to our organization and wish him well in Kamloops. We are excited to acquire Jordan Rowley and welcome him to our family.” Rowley is expected to join the Raiders for weekend games in Saskatoon Friday and his hometown, Edmonton Sunday.
